Enroll in One City Charter School

Applications are now being accepted for new students and confirmation of intent to return for current students. For elementary and secondary grade levels, from 4K to 8th grade.

Our formal enrollment period for the 2021-22 school year will begin on Monday, March 1, 2021. Applications will be accepted for grades 4K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 4th grade.
Our formal enrollment period for the 2025-26 school year will begin on March 1st, 2025 at 8 am. Applications will be accepted for all grades from 4K through 8th.

As a public charter school authorized by the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents and supported by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, our school is tuition-free.

Attendance Boundary: Additionally, any family residing anywhere in Wisconsin with children age 4 years old and up by September 1 each school year can enroll in One City Schools.

Please Note

Each school year begins September 1 or the next school day after September 1. One City Schools is currently the only public school in Wisconsin providing both a longer school day and longer school year.

Open Enrollment

Our formal enrollment period for the 2025-26 school year will begin on March 1st, 2025 at 8 am and end April 11th, 2025 at 5 pm.

Pre-enrollment applications and intent to return forms will be accepted for all grades from 4k through 8th.

Once the enrollment period begins, you will be able to complete the online pre-enrollment application for your child(ren).

After it's Ended

Once the formal enrollment period has ended on April 11th, 2025 at 5 p.m CST, any pre-enrollment applications received for a class with more applications than available seats will enter a lottery to be held on April 16th, 2025.

Families in the lottery will receive follow-up information via email by Friday, April 18th regarding their child’s acceptance into One City Schools.

Once initially accepted, families will have until Apr 30, 2025 at 5:00P CST to submit comprehensive enrollment information through our online system. On-site help will be available by appointment for families needing technology assistance or interpreters.

Waitlists and Lottery

All children not selected will be placed on our wait list in the order that their name was drawn in the lottery. Parents will have the option of whether or not to place their children on the waitlist.

If applicable, waitlist applicants will begin to be notified on May 1st and will continue to enroll until classes are full or by October 31st, 2025, whichever occurs first.

Lottery Preferences:

  • Currently enrolled students.
  • Siblings of currently enrolled students.
  • Children of faculty, staff, and Board members if completed applications are received by March 14th, 2025 at 5:00P CST.

Incomplete forms will not be accepted

Application Form

All families must complete and submit the application or intent to return form in order for their child's application to be considered. Please note that this year, the process will be conducted in two phases: Phase 1 - Open Enrollment; in this phase you must submit your application for new students or confirm your intent to return for current students. Phase 2 - Enrollment; in this phase, families must submit all required forms and provide necessary documentation, such as proof of residency.

Students will not be considered ENROLLED until all forms are COMPLETED and SUBMITTED within the time frame posted.

All new scholars requesting to enroll at One City Schools for the next school year in 4K - 8th grade must fill out our Online Application form. You will need to create a new enrollment account, even if you have another child currently enrolled in One City.
New Students
Current families must renew their child's seat for the next school year. Anytime between March 1 and March 14, current families must log into PowerSchool to fill out their Intent to Return form.
