Dr. Kimberly Anderson is an accomplished educator with over 20 years of experience. Not new to the world of charter schools, her focus has historically been on offering education in non-traditional settings. Her primary experience has been in online learning, operating her own company to afford school districts an on-line option to expand the academic opportunities afforded to their students. While she has always had a passion for at-risk learners, her focus on equity grew while she obtained her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Kimberly’s dissertation, "Leveling the discipline dynamic : Black girls and Latinas make sense of how to navigate School Resource Officers and security guards in high schools”, focused on the disparity of discipline for Black females and Latinas. As the Director of Student Services and Special Education, Kimberly looks to create innovative approaches to supporting students with a focus on helping students engage in their learning and demonstrate their knowledge in new and different ways. She is dedicated to working with students to help them be productive members of the community. Kimberly also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in English, a Master’s of Arts in Teaching, a Masters of Arts in Writing and Literature, and Masters of Education.
