Ms. Hilary Brandt joined One City Schools as a Principal and Director of Instruction intern in August 2023. She began teaching in 2002 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a B.S. in Elementary/Middle-Level Education, emphasizing English, Language Arts, and Literacy.
Ms. Brandt is pursuing dual Master's degrees in Educational Leadership Administration and Curriculum and Instruction from Viterbo University and will graduate in May 2025. She also holds a 316 Reading Teacher License from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
She has taught for over 20 years across various Wisconsin school districts, including roles in grades 4 through 9, with a focus on English, Language Arts, and Literacy. Ms. Brandt served as a teacher at Kromrey Middle School in Middleton, WI, from 2010 to 2017, where she demonstrated instructional leadership by developing and implementing new ELAL curricula.
In September 2022, Ms. Brandt transitioned into community leadership as a Village Board Trustee in McFarland, WI, where she champions diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. She also serves as a mentor at Indian Mound Middle School.
Ms. Brandt's commitment to fostering academic excellence, promoting equity, and nurturing the potential of all students is further bolstered by her use of data-driven decision-making. This approach instills confidence in her leadership and enhances educational outcomes across various settings.
