My name is Heidy Duarte, I joined One City Schools as a Nurse Assistant in January 2022. In this role, I provide basic emergency care for illness and injuries and strive to provide support, encourage, and assist students, parents, and staff members to the best of my abilities. As a member of the Operations Team, we work hard in tracking and limiting the spread of COVID-19 in One City Schools as well as maintaining strict confidentiality and HIPAA standards. I strongly believe in the importance of being empathetic, and compassionate with students, families, and staff members and committed to ethical medical practices.
Prior to joining One City, I worked for the Madison Metropolitan School District as a Bilingual Nurse Assistant for about five years, served as a Clerk Receptionist for two years, and as a Special Education Assistant for one year.
I was born in Honduras and lived there for eleven years. I came to the United States when I was twelve years old; attended and graduated from the Madison Metropolitan School District and went to college here in Wisconsin. I have done volunteer work at Well Child Clinics and volunteered as a Spanish/English interpreter and family advocate.
Throughout my life, I feel blessed to have worked with so many wonderful people who have helped me grow in my personal and professional life. I am excited and look forward to working each day alongside a wonderful team to provide the best care possible for every student and family here in One City Schools.
